AJ Nelson is a 30-year-old skateboarder whose journey began in the summer of 2010. Growing up, he spent countless hours skating street and mini ramps with friends, building both his style and his passion for progression. In 2016, he transitioned into vert skating, where he found his stride on bigger terrain and began pushing his limits.

AJ honed his skills at Kokomo Pipeline Skatepark—his hometown park—where he learned to navigate large transitions and develop his confidence on bigger ramps. The park played a major role in shaping his skating, making its recent demolition a tough loss for him. His first experience on a vert ramp came at Ollie's Skatepark, marking the beginning of a deeper commitment to vert.

What drives AJ most is the community that raised him. Influenced heavily by his friends, he thrived on their shared hunger to progress, explore new spots, and capture their skating along the way.

Known for his style and control, AJ's favorite tricks include boneless variations, inverts, crail slides, and frontside grinds—each reflecting his roots and evolution as a skater.
